The Red Deer of New Zealand is a special breed that traces its origins to the Royal game parks of England.

Red Deer were gifted to New Zealand during colonisation, where they made their home in our pristine native forests. Inmore recent times the Red Deer has been domesticated by New Zealand’s natural grassland farmers.

New Zealand’s farmed Red Deer nappa is renowned by the world’s luxury fashion houses for its incredible light weight and soft spongy feel. The careful stewardship of our farmers ensures the highest standard of animal welfare, and minimises faulting when compared to wild origin deer.

MAZERVO ™ Farmed Deer leather is prepared with a fine grain character and luxurious silky soft feel, well suited for a full range of leather goods; garments, gloves, shoes and bags.

The Merino is an exclusive breed that traces its origins to the early Monarchs of Spain.

Merino were introduced to New Zealand by the great English explorer, Captain James Cook, when we were discovered in 1773. They have thrived here ever since.

The Merino are farmed in the mountains of New Zealand, where they are best known for producing the world’s finest woollen fleece. Few people know that the world’s finest fleece protects such a uniquely luxurious leather.

MAZINO™ Merino Lamb leather is crafted to showcase the material’s natural pebble character; perfectly suited for shoes, bags, leather goods and garments.

NAKED GOAT

New Zealand has a rich history of sheep farming, but few people realize we have also been farming goats for generations. In fact it was Captain James Cook who introduced goats to New Zealand when he discovered our lands in the 1700's.

In recent times our goat population has grown as a result of global demand for both fine Cashmere and premium Goat milk. It is from this resource that we select the very best material for making our premium velvet goats suedes.

We grade the material depending on the final use, be it soft velvet suede gloves and garments, or luxurious shoes and bags that require a little more structure.

Of course we also offer a selection of distinctive New Zealand Goat nappas.

Introducing luxurious New Zealand slink baby lamb shearling; prized by the world’s leading fashion houses and glove makers.

Each piece of shearling is handcrafted by our artisans in the Deep South of New Zealand. Our team of expert craftsmen tan, dye, condition and brush the lambs wool. This showcases and preserves the beauty in nature, ready for presentation to you and your customers.

The pristine coastal and mountainous grasslands of New Zealand are home to our iconic sheep flock. It is only natural in such an environment that not all lambs will survive the challenges of nature. When this occurs we work alongside local sheep farmers to collect the very best material for tanning and finishing at the Slinkskins tannery. You and your customers can rest assured that we only work with materials from natural casualties.

The traditional saemisch fish oil tanning process has become synonymous with authentic luxury lederhosen fashion of Germany and Austria.

Our fine Bavarian style saemisch suedes are produced using the old-world technique; combining natural fish oil, time and patience. Together this creates an incredibly soft suede; the genuine article that is true to tradition.

We offer traditional Bavarian style suedes from New Zealand Deer, Goat and Lamb, top dyed in your choice of colour.

In addition to the conventional articles we regularly develop modern variations, for example our ribby Bavarian lamb suede.

Traditional Chamois made from sheep skins were first developed by the French glove makers more than 300 years ago, using a very special fish oil tanning technique.

The natural fish oil process gives sheep skins with:

1. Unrivaled softness

2. High absorbency

3. Polishing and non-abrasive properties

4. Washable properties

These unique properties explain why chamois has become so popular for cleaning and polishing applications, particularly in automotive and glass/window cleaning.

Our team has been trained by the chamois artisans of England, producing to the British Standard BS 6715: 1991 and supplying the European car care market for nearly 20 years.

Traditional chamois is produced using New Zealand sheep skins, but we can also offer made from New Zealand Deer and Goat for special purposes.

Packed retail-ready chamois cloths are also available.
